Trenton J. Peterson, MA, LMFT, LADC

Clinic Director

Trenton is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. He has a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and a Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Trenton also has an interest in working with:

  • Various families and couple types
  • Diverse cultural and ethnic groups
  • Various mental and behavioral issues
  • Personal and spiritual enrichment
  • Sexual Issues

My approach to therapy is, “Narrative”. This means that I see the problem as the problem, not the person as the problem. I work with many individuals, couples, and families with diverse issues, where Narrative is a successful tool. You are the expert in our conversations. You are the expert on your life, your problems, and the best solutions for you. In therapy, we discover how a problem affects your life. We work together to find your past successes in overcoming that obstacle. Then we use those successes from the past to create a new way to deal with the problem today. Many of my clients feel this is a very powerful experience.

I also provider MN and AAMFT Approved supervision to MFT therapists who are in the process of licensure. Please take a look at my Philosophy of Supervision, to see if you may be interested in doing supervision with myself.

Andrea M. Hendel

MA, LMFT (Anoka Office) Psychotherapist

As a therapist, I am Strength Based, Cognitive Behavioral, and Trauma Informed. I believe it is important to help the client identify their positive strengths that will be used to assist in dealing with the concerns that lead them to therapy. I am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), which is an evidence based practice for working with children through age 20 who have experienced a single or multiple traumatic events in their life. I have also been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), another evidence based trauma treatment that can be used with children well into adulthood. As many people have dealt with traumatic events in their lives, I find working with this population powerful. I work with individuals, couples, families, and adolescents and provide a safe and respectful environment that leads the client to know there is no judgment in the office.
