I was born and raised in the state of Michigan in a pastor’s home. I came to Minnesota for the first time when I started attending North Central University for my undergraduate degree in Inter-Cultural Studies: World Missions. After completing my degree at North Central and marrying my husband, I began graduate school at Argosy University for a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. My master’s was completed in 2014, and since then I have been working towards licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have worked predominately with elementary age children, adolescents and young adults. Focus of sessions have been on learning to be assertive, pre-marital counseling, teenaged pregnancy and parenting, single parenting, life transitions, identity, balancing school/work with life and communicating with authority figures. I enjoy working from the frameworks of structural therapy, systems theory and solutions-focused therapy. I strive to support individuals, couples and families in times of need.
